You click a few times and the screen presents you with different but confusing options then start making some sound if you take too long to choose. We all know that the people in line are in a rush and can’t be waiting for you to learn how to use an ATM. So this is a short guide on how to deposit money at a Capitec ATM without a card.
Deposit money at Capitec ATM without a card
When in a Capitec ATM, press enter or touch screen to activate it. You will see a few options on the screen.
Step 1: Click on "Cash deposit"
Step 2: Enter the account number you wish to deposit to
I made the mistake of thinking I should insert my own account number as a Capitec bank holder, enter the account number that you wish the cash to be deposited to.
Step 3: Confirm the name
The ATM will show you details of the account you wish to deposit to, it’s usually a name. Click Enter or Confirm if the information displayed is correct, if not then retype your account number.
Step 4: Put money in the deposit slot
The ATM will open a slot for you to enter your money, don’t worry, it knows how to calculate it, you don’t have to worry, it only accepts notes and not coins.
Step 5: Confirm the deposit
The ATM will show you the summary of your ongoing transaction, click “confirm” or ” continue” whichever one is applicable at that time. This will ensure that your deposit is successful.
Step 6: Wait for confirmation
The ATM has to tell you whether the deposit was successful or not, it will usually ask you if you wish to receive the printed summary of your transaction or now. That’s it, that’s how easy it is but it is often intimidating.
